Comment on Behaviorism: is that it? by michel http://sprachgefuhl.com/welcome/2009/10/12/behaviorism-is-that-it/comment-page-1/#comment-14 michel Sun, 22 Nov 2009 23:34:43 +0000 http://sprachgefuhl.com/welcome/?p=758#comment-14 The truth is that no one really knows what happens inside this black box. It's a blind spot. Meaning our true motivations/reasons remain hidden especially from ourselves. Follow this line of thought and we can't even be sure if what we think is real, or a fabrication we are being told by our subconsciousness. To put it black and white: 'self' might be the next layer of our brain due for deconstruction. So although classical behaviorism is obsolete, its successor (cognitive studies) is a major step in a direction towards understanding who we really are and our behavior. As in any science it is needed; knowing that cows give better milk if they eat XYZ is not a conclusion to better milk. Mucic might help; I mean there are external factors, emotions, that is why there are no robot shrinks; at least yet. Behaviorism to me is just a tool to measure, a needed structure.
